Poppy's day

How to draw a poppy

First, draw an oval.
Then, draw a line for the stem, and some more lines for the leaves.
Use your pencil and try that you draw very soft lines, so you can erase them later.

Draw a little circle in the middle of the oval, and then surround it with another oval.
These are the two first petals.
Draw some more petals in the bottom, and some more around the center of the flower.
Use an irregular line to draw the petals.
You can add some shadows if you wish.

Outline the lines of the leaves with an irregular line .
Remember that the end of the leaves are pointy.
Now you can start adding colors with color pencils.
Use a red, a brown and a green one.
You can hold your pencils with the overhand grip, to avoid filling the petals with lines.
Add some shadows with the brown pencil, and go on slowly adding red.
Don’t press with your color pencils.

At the end, erase the pencil lines with a rubber.
