How to draw and shade a giraffe using a fine tip marker
You will need a sheet of paper, a pencil,an eraser and a black fine tip marker.
First, draw the structure of your giraffe.
Draw a circle for the head, overlap a triangle for the snout and add some lines for the details. Draw two lines for the neck.
Use a pencil and draw very soft, so you can erase it later.
Check you pencil drawing. If you think it is correct, outline it with the black marker.
Start shading with small parallel lines using your fine tip marker. This technique is called hatching.
To darken an area, you have to draw the lines very close to each other, or even cross the lines.
This is called crosshatching.
Go on slowly adding lines to your drawing.
These lines add texture, because they emulate fur.
Be patient and shade slowly.
